The Uniform of Group Captain Dennis Graland (Bud) Malloy DFC, CD (1917-1993)
Presented To The Shearwater Aviation Museum on 15 April 1999 by G/C Malloy's Son Colonel D. Brian Malloy, CD (Canadian Forces).
Bud Malloy, a native of Halifax, enrolled in the Auxiliary Active Air Force as a pilot officer in September 1939. He received his primary flying training at the old "Chebucto Airport" in Halifax and after qualifying for his pilot's wings was promoted to Flying Officer in April 1940.
He served with valour and distinction during World War II as evidenced when he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross in January 1943 when he had completed 60 operational sorties. He retired in the rank of Group Captain in 1968.
